Wedding Guest book at the Vale Country Club Ruthin

Ruthin Wedding Photography – The Vale Country Club.

I was really excited about photographing my first wedding at the Vale Country Club, because the views outside of the club over the Clwydian mountain range are amazing. It really is the perfect location for a wedding photographer, there are so many locations for photographs I was spoilt for choice!

My day started at the Vale, taking some photographs of the groom, best man and groomsmen, before the bride arrived. At the pre-wedding meeting Laura had stated that she did not want any bridal preparation photographs, so I didn’t have to get up too early for a change! Laura was running a bit late on the day, but they do say it is a bride’s prerogative to be late on their wedding day. We still managed to get a few pictures outside with her parents and the bridesmaids just before I ran inside to get ready for the aisle walk.

The ceremony was very relaxed, full of laughs and maybe even a few tears. I always try to stay out of the way during the ceremony and use my zoom lens to capture the proceedings whilst not being intrusive, this allows the bride and groom to relax, resulting in me capturing some natural candid moments.

The weather was excellent, so after the ceremony I left Laura and Shane to converse with their guests for a time outside. After half an hour or so we started to round everyone up for the group photographs and the big group shot with all the guests, the setting for these photographs really could not have been better, with the mountains in the background bathed in sunlight. After the group shots I took the bride and groom off on their own for a while to get some nice romantic portraits of them together.

Afterwards, everyone headed back in to the club’s main room (which is huge!) and sat down for their wedding breakfast. The bride and groom asked me to join them for the meal, because there was a spare seat, due to a guest being ill. The food was lovely and the company on my table was even better! After the meal I photographed the speeches and then the bride and groom asked me if we could take some photographs of them with the beautiful sunset, so we headed back outside for a while.

Later, the evening guests started to arrive, which was closely followed by the cake cutting and the first dance. Laura and Shane bust out some of their special dance moves, which everyone found hilarious and then Shane treated everyone to his sultry tones with a bit of karaoke!

Here are some photographs from Laura and Shane’s day:
